4th cop in alleged gang rape of pregnant woman ordered to report for duty

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has ordered the fourth policeman tagged in the alleged gang rape of a pregnant woman in Bulacan to report for duty.

In an interview on Balitanghali on Thursday, Napolcom Vice Chairman Rogelio Casurao said the three other policemen being linked to the crime have already been put under restrictive custody.
"Ang unang gagawin sa kanya 'pag na-locate na 'yan is to put him under restrictive custody na naman together with the three others na kasama niya," Casurao said.
The 29-year-old victim said she was collecting payment for "5-6" loans inside a house in Barangay Bangkal in Meycauayan when a group of policemen, reportedly conducting an anti-drug operation, barged in.
Casurao said the rest of the suspects were placed under restrictive custody to prevent them from influencing the case, which he said is being "investigated thoroughly."
If the four policemen are proven to be guilty, they will be dismissed from the service, charged with rape, and punished accordingly, he said.
"According to the complainant, they took turns in committing the offense. Kung may conspiracy 'yan, masyadong mabigat 'yan, unless they really merit the imposition of a capital punishment," Casurao said.
The fourth suspect has yet to be named but those under restrictive custody —  PO2 Jefferson Landrito, P01 Marlo delos Santos, and PO1 Jeremy Aquino — were positively identified by the victim.
Bulacan Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Jr. vowed that there would be no whitewash in the investigation.
